Very pretty lake with nice restaurants. 550 miles of shoreline. My grandkids like tubing and fishing.

If you are in the area, it's worth going to take a look at. It's a beautiful lake and plenty to do there! Wish we had more time to spend there!

We had to pay to swim in a lake? I guess its great if you have a boat. I will not waste my time driving to this park. I will drive to the Ocean 1st.

Stop on in to the restaurants around Lake Norman, sit down and enjoy the day by the water. Can take a boat ride around the lake too. Had a good time on the boat trip.Had lunch at the Blue Parrot

Man made lake, Duke Power generation plant at head of river that forms the lake. Good for boating and fishing. Lots of developed recital areas accessible to water but restaurants and bars are pricy. Better food and drink specials available writhing a few miles of waterfront for much better prices and nicer restaurants. Land locked an all sides due to... More

Boats, water-skis, Ski-doos ... loud crouds and people watching - for that this place is OK, I suppose... There are just not enough good food places on the water's edge that will allow your average Joe to enjoy a meal lakeside and lap up the atmos.... Well, what atmosphere, really. Up in Troutman there is an excellent public beach that... More

We were visiting and went for a walk around the paths. It is a very nice area plenty of places to sit and talk and/or have a picnic. There is a small charge to get into the gates and park, but it is totally worth it. Get out of the car and take a walk on the shore of the... More

One of the largest man made lakes in the USA with almost 1000 miles of shoreline! Boating is superb, but gets CROWDED on the south end on the weekends. The Sandbar and Cocktail Cove are favorites for tie-ups and partying on the weekends. That is, if you like partying with several hundred other fun people!

Shoreline is developed. Great recreational lake for those with motors. Better places for those with boats without motors...
