The museum does a good job explaining the history of the area and it's importance in the history of our country, rom the first settlers, through current economies. And they have a special section dedicated to Michael Jordan.

My opinion is it should cost around $4. $7 is a little high for what you get. Seems like they are trying to create history. Caught it at a good time with a temporary civil war exhibit, otherwise would have been very disappointed.

This was our first visit to Wilmington and we stopped at the museum one afternoon. The outside collection of boats was quite interesting and I learned about the Simmons Sea-Skiff, a popular local design. The museum is nicely laid out and offers a mix of displays about area history, wildlife, etc. Although the museum is open until 5, the gift... More

This is a good museum with various displays related to the Cape Fear area and its history. The variety of displays and artifacts is nice - it's about a 60-90 minute visit.

My family loved this museum. Went there with my mom (64) and 2 children (ages 4 and 10). While there wasn't an abundance of things for the 4 year old, there was enough to keep him interested and entertained. My 10 year old loved it and had to be dragged away. There is a special hands on childrens area they... More

Hubby & I like to stop in every so often. They change the displays often enough to keep it interesting & I always like learning more about our area & history in general.

Very nicely laid out museum with friendly staff and informative displays. I agree it is mainly history but i saw several school groups having science lessons from museum staff which looked like a lot of fun. Don't miss the video comparison of black and white schools . Quite shocking and so recent.
