i was quite positively surprised by the quality of this exhibit. who would have thought that we can find crystals worths millions and millions in this remote area. i'm sure that most of the stones and crystals would be highly welcome in any national museum. highlights are the huge amethyst geode from uruguay and a beautiful, rare, antique lapislazuli statue... Overall the place was interesting and they had some lovely crystals. The only down fall for me was from reading the leaflet, it did not actually state that it wasn't, or was a natural cave, and from the name I was misled into thinking it must be an actual cave. So we drove an hour and a half out of... More

Really enjoyed this experience. We were lucky enough to visit when it was quiet and practically had the place to ourselves. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Children especially loved cracking their own Geode and have since taken them in to school for Show & Tello. Definately on our #1 list of things to do in Atherton

Myself and my 10yo daughter toured The Crystal Caves. It was the main reason why we came to Cairns from Wollongong. Yes the caves are made of polyurethane, but a lot of thought and care has been put into their design and creation. Each turn reveals a different crystal, you search and find another. The crystals are beautiful, the lighting... More

Travelled from Townsville to visit the NQLD area. We had been to the Crystal caves before when our children were younger, but as teenagers they still enjoyed the visit to the caves and the displays available. All in all a good visit. If you have young to teenage kids is worth the trip. The caves and the experience was outstanding.... More

I very much enjoyed my visit to the Crystal Caves. It's clear that a great deal of love and attention went in to the display. The huge amethyst geode is amazing, and they have some of the finest trilobites I've ever seen displayed. I thought it was really interesting and fun.

It was nothing special. The cave was so expensive and was just annoying, having to put on helmets that were loose and wouldn't stay on your head, with tiny lights that didn't show much at all, and at times having to bend way over to basically crawl through small spaces. Went in a doorway, took us off into a bunch... More

I was a little surprised by the entry fee but we had nothing planned for the day. the display in such a small area was fantastic. right in town, friendly staff and even had my two yr old amused by all the different shapes and colours.

Our 5year old daughter had been dreaming to go to the Crystal Cave, it's a good size man-made cave for her. I loved it because my daughter loved it! Amazed that we could touch and take photos as much as we wanted.
