What a great place for all ages ..food as well will go again in summer kids loved it and were interested asking lots questions ...
Firstly this attraction is free, yes free! You can spend hours here going back through the ages.As you enter through the cafe which itself is nestled into the surroundings ,you get the feeling your in for something special. All the staff and guides are polite and knowledgeable. I found the layout easy to follow and some good storytelling.
A great place to take family, friends, children and visitors. We took our French friends there and they loved it. And if you go when there's an event on, it's even more special. Only drawback, they don't have guide books or audio in other languages. May be something for them to consider.
We had a brilliant day out here, the kids loved the under ground tunnels and all the tanks , brilliant way to spend a dayout with a picnic .
I have been several times to the Armouries with my grandson. It is chock full of items, and I still havent been to see the newest arrival despite only being "just down the road".
If you like big guns - this is the place for you. If you like tunnels - this is the place for you. If you like views - this is the place for you. Plenty to keep all the family busy.
Have been to this museum a couple of times in the past. It has got a lot better now that it has been updated. All exhibits are now well displayed both inside and out. How we underestimated it, we spent all morning and part of the afternoon there. There... More
Whilst it has been a while since we visited Fort Nelson, it is a place full of history and information, a place where you can take children and grandchildren and enjoy a couple of hours wandering around and seeing how our army/armies fared over the years with cannons of all shape and sizes. Once you have finished wandering there is... More
Well what can one say? Excellent day out which is all free of charge. Underground runways are exciting for the kids to travel along as is the cannon gun fireing that they expertly carry out every day. Lots of different exhibits showing warfare from several years ago to date. It has a new on site cafe and can make a... More
