Great small town atmosphere and good restaurants. Plenty of good, fresh seafood! Harris Beach State Park is beautiful. Try the Art Alley Grill for super food in a romantic setting.
We stay at Brookings at least a couple of times a year and always enjoy it. It's the largest town on the southern coast (well, unless you consider Coos Bay to be on the southern coast!) , and can be congested at times in the summer.
Brookings is not one of the teeny, charming, "quaint" Oregon coast towns. It has...

Lots of flowers, shops, friendly people and sunshine! We enjoyed our stay - went to the Azalea park and had a picnic. Walked along the beach. Poked into little shops. Had a great lunch! You should go.
Brookings is touted as being the Banana Belt of the Oregon Coast, as it basically has warmer temperatures and more sun than any of the other towns on the coast. The scenery is spectacular, there are lots of motels and RV parks, and the people are extremely friendly here. You won't be disappointed if you decide to make this one...

Hubby and I enjoyed this little town. Not much to do in the way of big city shopping but if you love the ocean and small towns, it's nice here. There are several nice restaurants, beautiful beaches, great state parks and the weather is mild most of the year. Close to casino action just across the border and some interesting...

I always enjoy driving through Brookings. Everything is so clean and well kept. It stands out over all other Oregon coastal towns. Nice accomodations and good food abounds here. It is also near some of the most beautiful coastline along the Oregon coast. A great place to travel to or to stop when you have another destination.
People from all over the world think this is the most perfect spot on earth. Many others dismiss it as just another ugly mill town. It's both, and your opinion may depend on the weather. It can be foggy and rainy and stinking of mill smoke for months on end, even in the summer, or 70 degrees and crystal clear...

I am settled here, at least for a while. The weather is the best you'll find on the Oregon Coast. Brookings has many layers. It's easy to just drive down Hwy 101 and see a couple of miles of fairly ugly buildings. Even driving onto the side streets, there are lot of tacky little houses, ugly buildings, and just a...

Lots to do, amazing State Parks, with breathtaking views, several really good restaurants and all reasonably priced!
