Since we were up to take a tour of the U of OR campus, I couldn't pass the opportunity to run in the foot steps of Pre. What a legacy! The trail is well marked, safe and fun! I ran around 7:30 a.m. in the rain. One of the best runs I have had in years!

From my Hayward Field review, I can tell you I'm not a fan of track or running in general, but even without the lore of Steve Prefontaine, this is such a scenic jogging trail that is well worth spending a few minutes of time on or visiting multiple times if you're in the area. Add the history of Prefontaine to... More

We go there often because it is the best way to Hendricks Park, a sprawling forested and planted area above the UO campus. Not to be missed. ,Pre's memorial is there, to an athlete dying young. Watch those curves. Don't speed. What a loss. We just walked there two days ago and go at least once a week. New blooms,... More

I'm not a runner so I've only used sections of it for group outing or dog walking. I don't consider it anything specail but I do know the history of the trail so would say that if you like running and history you should visit the rtrail at least once.

Anyone familiar with Prefontaine's story/life must stop and visit Pre's trail and Hendricks park. Lush, overgrown azaleas and rhodies. So beautiful in springtime, and a cool oasis in the summer.

This is a spectacular run with various surroundings. You'll find yourself running by water, next to a field, through a park, under a canopy of trees...

Inspiring, perfect surface, green abounds with flowers of many colors dotting the scene...and a great way to remember Prefontaine.

Went walking twice on Pre's trail. Wonderfully cushioned bark to help with those knees! Beautiful views, lots of people so even alone one can feel safe.

Very soft trail with a number of loops and connectors. Great area with river, stream, stadium, lots of trees. Beware that connectors and bridges aren't very well marked if you need to find your way back to where you started!
