Loved this little out of the way nature stop. Short easy walk to some of the most interesting plant life and great picnic spot for warmer weather. Restrooms, picnic tables, parking and a great place to stretch your legs. Visited in Winter but would love to return when they are snacking on bugs. Fun for the whole family.
This is a quiet little find of a state park! Wonderful hike to view beautiful foliage! Peaceful and serene!
Watch your small children here. Wake the boardwalk around a circle into the wierdest plant population ever. They are prehistoric looking!!!!! We didn't see any snapping bugs the day we were there. Its free, and 100 feet off the main highway. Worth the stop. Grrrrrrrrr.
trails lead through swampy area where you can watch huge fields of pitcher plants eat insects . the plants them selves look like something out of a scifi movie like little yellow dragon heads with out eyes. I recommend a stop for lunch and a walk if your traveling along 101 there's picnic tables under hte shade right of the...

very small trail honestly kinda boring great plant life if you are there the right time of year though
The insect eating plants are interesting and worth pointing out and preserving but you only need to allow a few minutes to visit as nothing particularly interactive, nor indeed much to see.
This park in on the outskirts of Florence and one of the most unusual places to visit on the west coast. This is a natural habitat for the Pitcher plant, also known as the Venus Fly trap. Also Darlingtonia is not only the home of a rare insect eating plant but also home to an abundant crop of skunk cabbage...

This is a quick stop along 101 just north of Florence. Watch for the signs and don't miss the turn. You'll walk along a short boardwalk trail to see amazing carniverous plants. (Bloom in May and June) No admission cost and there's a restroom. The picture with this site isn't accurate. (No sand here). I have better ones and will...
