I have watched movies, attended film festivals, watched concerts, and listened to lectures at the Elsinore. The architecture and decorations are from a time long ago. They have showings of older movies on a regular basis.

Check the Elsinore's schedule, attend something, you will be blown away. Somehow the magnificent building will enhance any performance.
Nearly any even has an intermission and sells overpriced wine, but go ahead, it's for a good cause.
This Tudor-Gothic style theatre features modern seats that are comfy on the main floor. The "Loodge" and balcony may still have the old...

The building is old and tired. Maintenance efforts in progress. Acoustics were just ok for the play I saw. Haven't been in many years so maybe there have been improvements since.
The Elsinore is used for a variety of things in Salem. Old Movies, plays, dance recitals, orations, but the very best are the old silent movies with the big pipe organ used for emphasis. A unique experience. Dinner theaters are fun too
A better venue being utilized in Salem. it was a Carlos Mencia show. There have been other good shows there in the mean time.
Went to see a concert Violinist was so impressed. Everything was wonderful. Great atmosphere. Only issue was parking....that is to be expected.

But lest you think this is a place just for highbrows--you will be interested to know that there is a great theatre organ which is played regularly--sometimes to accompany...

My wife and I attended a performance by the Glenn Miller Orchestra Tuesday night October 16th at the historic Elsinore Theater in Salem Oregon. It was a great show. Led by Nick Hilscher, the band sounded fantastic. I’m in my forties so I grew up listening to disco and 80’s music but having seen the Glenn Miller Story as a...

The Elsinore has adequately comfortable seats, good acoustics, and always friendly volunteer for their many productions. With the dedicated efforts of the community, the Elsinore shines with refurbished and brightened painted Shakespeare murals in the lobby, updated restroom facilities. A real highlight is the mighty organ, which is played along with periodically shown silent movies . Takes one back to...

I recently attended a comedy show here. If you like old funky archetecture and huge murals you need to visit here. I like checking out the top balcony. Several eateries are close by. Free parking down town can be a little challenging. Volunteers do their part to help make your experience enjoyable. Let the volunteers know you are there to...
