First off: definitely check their website for their calendar of events, so you don't go during the off season and miss the irises. But if you are in Salem in the late spring timeframe, stop in and take an hour (or less/more depending on your preference!) to walk around the amazing display gardens bursting with color and a variety of... If you are in the area of Salem, OR during mid-May to June, you must not miss the Schreiner's Iris Gardens. If you hate flowers, you will love it here. Trust me. Even Ebeneezer Scrooge would would enjoy his visit. Oh the colors! It's free and I noticed that everyone from the really young (who could barely walk) and the... More

The iris are in full bloom right now (through June 9 is peak season), and the garden is almost overwhelming in the number of different colors and shapes of blossoms. Not only iris, but the garden is also full of columbine of every color, peonies, and poppies. There is also a flower sale room where you can stroll rows of... More

If you love flowers and gardens, this little haven will fill up your senses! We went on Mother's Day, which was gorgeous and at the beginning of bloom season. We also went Memorial Day, which was equally festive, with live music and a chicken BBQ. But the gardens are magnifi"scent"! They generously gave out a bouquet of Iris stems to... More

I enjoyed the beauty of the display gardens just after a rain. I got some marvelous photos. They did provide a tent and the shop is covered if you need to get out of the rain. There are so many colors and varieties of Iris to photo... a great place to go. Allow a couple hours if you are taking... More

This has now become a Mother's Day tradition for my family. There aren't just iris' here, they have a beautiful selection of plants for purchase but also their gardens are stunning around the Mother's Day timeframe. Everything from wisteria to lilac to iris' etc. Worth a visit during their bloom time even if you aren't looking to plant iris'... Enjoy!

I have been to this site many times, as well as ordered many bulbs for gardens that I have created. I have even moved these bulbs from Oregon to both Washington and California with great success. I have split them so many times over the years with good results. I started with a 50 bulb plan. After 12 years I... More

The Schreiner's Iris Garden is open to the public during blooming season from the middle of May until the middle of June. It is beautiful and an enormous bouquet of irises can be purchased for $6.

A friend from Portland took us here. We are visiting Portland and told us about this garden. We went today and had a great time walking the gardens. I took over 100 photos. This is well worth the time to come. They sell cut flowers and wish I could have taken an arm load with us.
