Yachats is a fun town to visit. People are very laid back. There is a nice path along the coast at the north end of town. lots of the more common agates can be found on the gravel beaches.

The walking path was a great place to take our dog - I met such friendly people & even saw whales migrating!

Words really cannot describe this beautiful coastline. We were lucky to be blessed with perfect weather. The state parks are well kept and the beaches are pristine. The town of Yachats itself is special and the rocky beachs lend themselves to exploration of the tide pools, blow holes, and crashing waves. The people here are special too, maybe they are... More

One of the most beautiful areas of the Oregon coastline. Rugged cliffs with fresh waterfalls falling down to the ocean sand. Beautiful trails down to the beach.

Some time had passed since we last stayed in the Yachats area, but we picked the right weekend. Coolish midweek temperatures had given away to sunny days and 80º weekend temperatures. At our hotel, situated on the rocky shelf just about the ocean, many sat on their balconies enjoying a comfortable evening and the ocean sunset. Both evenings there, high... More

A beautiful stretch of Oregon coast line with lovely sights (ocean, seals, bald eagles, whales - wow!) and many places to stop and soak up the beauty. Tide pools are great - please be careful to not injure the wild life - go have fun!

La De Da is the name of the annual July 4th parade in Yachats, but it's also the perfect description for such a care free, laid-back town. It is appropriately dubbed the "Gem of the Oregon Coast" and is hands down, our favorite place to stay. There are lots of beach house rentals available here, many of which are pet... More

Having lived here for over 30 years, I am still excited to drive the Oregon Coast Highway 101 from north of Florence up to Yachats. The views are fantastic, and there are easy-to-use pullouts where you can stop and view a myriad of things---the Haceta Head lighthouse (freshly exposed after extensive remodeling--but not yet open---till August 2013). The south view... More

Yachats has both rocky and sandy beaches and the sunsets are beautiful. On the rocky beaches, there are lots of tide pools that allow you to see anemones, tiny crabs and other ocean plants and animals. The rocky beaches originated from lava flows... basalt and other obsidian flows. One thing to be very aware of if you are not from... More
