My husband and I were traveling from the Falling Waters area to the State College area of PA and identified this as a possible stop. What a fascinating piece of American history- not just textile history- that we knew nothing about. The visit was guided by a colorful and knowledgeable individual that wove a story of coverlets' circumscribed history in...

The fellow at the visitors bureau mentioned the museum so we thought we'd stop by. The people who founded and run it are charming. We returned the next day for a tour and found the enthusiasm of our guide infectious. It's a fascinating place.
Read about the Coverlet Museum online and were visiting the Bedford area, so we decided to stop. We weren't sure what to expect, but the tour was very interesting and since we were the only people there at that time, we had a very pleasant one-on-one guided tour. They also sell coverlets and table runners at the Museum shop. I...

You won't believe how much history is woven into these coverlets. You can discover the story of our country by understanding what people chose to decorate their homes with. You will be surprised by how beautiful and different coverlets can be.
Took the wife here and it has many beautiful displays and the history is interesting. The missus enjoyed it a lot beacuse she is into this kind of thing, but it is nicely done.
This museum was well worth the time. They have over 1000 coverlets that they rotate on display. The gentleman who gave the tour was knowledgeable and very nice. A bonus is you can purchase coverlets made on old-time looms for a very reasonable price.
very interesting, guide was extremely knowledgeable
