I had two great teachers over one week who helped me converse in everyday terms. Really enjoyed the chilled out of the main area location (only 5 mins walk from main streets) but the homestay was odd. We thought it would be total immersion in only speaking Spanish with the family but only the grandad sat with us at dinner... More

Dear 17_AB, thank you very much for taking your time and write a review on our school, it is well appreciated and also, if I would known the issue about the family earlier; I personally would talked to the family or definitely place you with a different host family since our first concern is to provide the best Spanish experience... I studied spanish at Spanish Ya for two weeks, and I was very impressed with the school. All of the teachers are very professional, and the lessons are very well structured. With one on one lessons you get the most out of your time and you will definitely learn a lot! I did the homestay option and I would definitely... More

I loved my teacher at Spanish Ya, she was patient, kind and had many years experience teaching both English and Spanish people Spanish. I also did the home stay option and got to meet students from other schools. It became clear that the structure of Spanish Ya far exceeded other schools in the area where in some cases students were... More

This was my 2nd time at Spanish Ya. This time, I brought my husband who also took lessons. This school is run by a very nice Nica family. My teacher assessed where I was and we got some things accomplished in one week. My husband also felt very positive about his experience as a beginner. This school is nicely located... More

I attended this school 4 years ago for 2 weeks, and just finished my second trip to this school. This time I studied 3 weeks. A home stay with the owners is the best. The mother of the owner prepares the meals. She owned a restaurant in the past, so you can imagine the great food. The bedrooms are very... More

My wife and I went to nearly every spanish school in San Juan del Sur before finally deciding on Spanish Ya. We definitely made the right choice! It's right next to the river and shady so classes are always cool and comfortable. Our teacher was Juanita and she was excellent! Very patient, very knowledgeable, and very organized. We took 20... I spent 10 weeks in Nicaragua studying Spanish, traveling and surfing. I started with two weeks at Spanish Ya, and finished my trip with a final 2 extra weeks at the school. The teachers were great, food at all the home-stays was healthy and delicious and the town is perfectly located.

After spending almost two weeks with another Spanish school in town, we were feeling frustrated and cheated (the other school was less than adequate). We decided to check out Spanish Ya and were impressed from the start. Their teachers are kind and professional, their setting is peaceful, and the director was organized, prompt, and receptive to our family's needs. To... More

My wife and I attended Spanish Ya for two weeks this summer and were amazed with our whole experience. Our teachers Eliezer and Betty(Betania) really pushed us in our learning and the activities with all the other students were just great. When we left I felt completely comfortable having conversations and getting to know the Nicaraguan's we met in their... More
