Get there EARLY! We visited on a Saturday morning and got a parking spot one block away with no problems, but when we left, there wasn't a place to park in sight! This is a great way to spend a few hours out and about to see what Pittsburgh has to offer. If we are in town again, we will... More

Visited on a Monday, the public market was closed but everything else was thriving. The smells of the food from the restaurants to the street vendors were amazing. Tons of shops to check out. We had a cup of coffee in store that roast its own beans. Picked up a couple Pittsburgh t-shirts from a street vendor, wife picked up... More

Even though I've been to Pittsburgh many times, I'd never been to the Strip until invited by friends- it was so much fun! Outdoor markets, spice stores, specialty stores for Asian foods, Italian foods, bakeries, restaurants, sidewalk food, a great wander and shopping for a couple of hours. It's a short walk from the Heinz history center, another worthwhile attraction.

The Strip District is such a great way to spend your day whether it be with family or friends. There are so many places to eat and so many stores to shop at. I love Deluca's for breakfast, Jimmy Sunseri & Nino Co for a pepperoni roll and I can't leave without buying fresh fruit and vegetables.

Do not eat before going here. There are so many vendors it would be hard to get to them all in a single visit. I would bring cloth shopping bags next time. Great way to spend a Saturday shopping and trying all the different foods that are for sale. Try everything you can and be sure to buy some things... More

I have been there numerous times and I really enjoy walking the strip! Shopping for fresh fruit, veggies, pasta, and fish are a must when you go. There are numerous restaurants and my favorite is the Pittsburgh Popcorn Company that is located on a side street. They have every imaginable kind of popcorn that they make fresh.

Every city my wife and I visit - we try to find a market and check it out. You get a great feel for the local culture, food and flavor of a town. And we pick up some great food to take back with us. My wife and kids knew nothing of Pittsburgh. The kids were with us and we... More

The strip district offers an odd amalgam of high-end restaurants (Lidia's, for example), food markets, coffee shops, etc. etc. It's a good place to say you've been there and seen it. Beyond that, well...

I absolutely LOVE going to the Strip whether by myself or with family & friends!! There really is something for everyone! From the amazing selection of foods, spices and cooking equipment of all ethnic types to some very quirky gift shops as well as a fabric store, antique mall, bakeries, coffee boutiques and more! Add to the great shopping, the... More
