We live in South Pittsburgh and have been visiting the zoo for years. We have had yearly family passes in years past. We decided to take the kids there today, since it has been over a year or more since our last visit. I cannot believe the difference! It look unkept, grasses overgrown, old weathered benches. I remember it looking... More

The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium is a must for anyone with young children. It is a real treat to find a zoo and aquarium in the same location. My grandson got to see a baby elephant being given a bath, a rhino rolling around in the mud and a peacock walking right next to his stroller. He loved the... More

Call me spoiled, but I am from Miami, FL and the Miami Metro Zoo is outstanding. There are spacious areas for the animals, huge diversity of wildlife, and many opportunities for additional animal interactions (petting rhinos and feeding giraffes). That being said, the Pittsburgh Zoo left a lot to be desired. First off, it is very small compared to most... More

I am a big lover of zoos and animals. This zoo is fine. It is a little expensive given how much you see and it is a little bit out of the way as it is in north pittsburgh. But I had a good time.

I enjoy seeing animals in areas closely resembling their actual habitat.I also enjoy seeing animals that are endangered and, if we are not careful may actually become extinct.

Great zoo for families. The animals are in natural habitats, feeding schedules are posted, there is a good little kid area with kangaroos, deer that are not afraid of being touched, slides, and bumper cars. We watched the elephants being bathed. Our 11 and 6 year olds loved that. The underwater showcases are large enough to hold a crowd. The... More

This is such a nice zoo! It is clean and well-maintained. They have a great variety of animals. We love that they have the aquarium included. The polar bear and penguins are great!! The penguin exhibit does get crowded but that is to be expected. There is a nice kids area too. Wear your walking shoes...it is Pittsburgh so there... More

We loved this Zoo! It was well worth the small admission fee! Took us several hours to get through and see everything. We went first thing in the morning and was able to see all the animals roaming around in their sections. This was a great time & we will be visiting again!

The polar bears are the best addition to the zoo. Still love going every year to see the changes. I could watch the penguins and fish all day.

Great informational shows/programs at assigned times a good way to get more info as you visit the zoo. animials are not as close up as other zoos I have been to but you can see them most of the time. Set up is in a circle so when you are done you have made the loop. I love the cold... More
