After finding out it was not the original home, I was disappointed. The tours run on a strict schedule that kept us on the go and not enough time to really enjoy it. Go with plenty of hours to take everything in or you will not be able to enjoy it.

We had read a lot about this plantation, and were not disappointed. We took the house and tram tour, and there are other options as well. Plan on spending a couple hours, and take your camera. If you are lucky, you will see some gators and other wildlife. AAA members get a break, so don't forget to mention it when...

While on vacation in Charleston I attended Magnolia Plantation 3550 Ashley River Rd Charleston, SC 29414 on 6/12/2013 . As my girlfriend and I waited in line to purchase tickets a concerned lady approached the ticket counter claiming that a chicken in the petting zoo was ill and appeared to be dying. The lady at the counter attempted to contact...

I recently spent 4 hours walking the trails and taking the house tour. Magnolia Gardens was a highlight of my trip to Charleston. If I'd had more time, I'd have gone back for a second day. There are several admission options. Since I arrived later in the day (3pm-ish) I only had time to do the house, slavery, and swamp...

be prepared for walking and try and chose a cooler less humid time of year plus be aware of thundershowers didn't affect us as we just changed the day we were going
The tour of the house was so rushed that it was not that enjoyable. The lady kept saying what a small group we where but still kept moving in and out of the rooms at lighting speed. The gardens where pretty nice. The tour of the slave quarters was pretty good. It was actually too expensive, you had to pay...

Magnolia Plantation and Gardens is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. They have an extensive garden full of beautiful flowers, many of which I had never seen before. There are little paths and bridges, palm trees, willow trees, flowering trees... the photo opportunities are endless!
They also have a small petting zoo and a feed machine...

We spent several hours here and probably didn't even get halfway through all that there is to see! Huge grounds and lots to do. A little pricey with all the costs of the tours. My husband and I did the general admission and tour of the house. The general admissions allows you to walk all through the grounds and gardens....

This was a really beautiful and interesting place to visit. We got to see many large birds and gators. There were also mini ponies and plenty of peacocks. The gardens were beautiful. The home was also really beautiful. Included in the cost is a petting zoo with many amazing creatures and animals to see up close and personal. I highly...

This property is very large, one could spend hours and still not have explored all of it's trails and gardens. The nature tram tour is well worth it and surprisingly comprehensive. It provides many photo opportunities from alligators to Native American burial mounds. The boat tour provides an opportunity to explore old rice fields and the wildlife that resides in...
