Discover stunning architecture, glorious gardens, Civil and Revolutionary War sites, cobblestone streets, wrought iron gates, legendary graveyards, and the local flavor of the fabled “Holy City” that no one knows better than Michael, who grew up in the famous "South of Broad" area, and has written two popular books on Charleston, where his family has lived for more than 215 years. « less

Michael's tour was amazing. He combined the right amount of history, anecdotal stories and humor. His knowledge of Charleston history was top notch. He even gave us a dinner recommendation which was spot on! The tour flew by and we saw very cool alleyways and amazing architecture. During our tour we passed other walking tours as well as carriage tours... More

Great tour of the city! Do this instead of a carriage ride. Learned so much from Michael, great photo ops and wonderful "feel" for what Charleston is all about.

We signed on with this tour last weekend and highly recommend it. If you are visiting Charleston for the first time and want to get the feel for the city in 2 hours, this is the way to go. There is so much culture and history associated with Charleston, that it's completely overwhelming trying to figure out where to even... More

Michael's tour was one of the highlights of my visit. He roamed the Charleston streets and alleys as a kid. He grew up listening to the Charleston stories of his generation. He studied the area's history, architecture, horticulture, and culture. Then he shares all those experiences and knowledge with you. Top notch.

Michael Trouche grew up in Charleston and knows every inch of this beautiful city. His walking tour was full of interesting information about the city's architecture, history, and culture. We strolled the streets and alleyways of old Charleston for two hours and came away with a true appreciation of Michael's knowlege and love of his home town. Don't miss this... More

Michael was one of the walks recommended by our uber-concierge (Kevin McQuade) and we had a great time on the walk. Michael pointed out the different styles of homes in the area and took particular delight in pointing out the places he hung out as a kid when he was growing up in Charleston, including the home where he grew... Michael Trouche is a great tour guide, who brings his city's history to life in a ~2 hour walking tour of the downtown historic district. He knows all the back alleys and local information, having grown up here and lived here most of his life! If you only do one thing while in Charleston, go on this walking tour with... More

Michael Trouche of Charleston Footprints Walking Tours did not disappoint! He is professional, starts on time, and keeps it moving. He deftly handled virtually all questions from the members of our group of 18-20, without getting too sidetracked by subjects that might interest one guest but have no interest to the other 19. As a lifetime resident he has the... More

Michael knows Charleston. Born and raised as a SOB (resident living South of Broad St) he takes you thru a 2 hr walk around the historic parts of town sprinkling in funny anecdotes of his own upbringing. The walk primarily covers history, architecture, and the idiosyncrasies of Charleston in the areas between Meeting St and East Bay Rd between Atlantic... More
