Stopped by while passing through Colombia. Was a nice place to stretch our legs. Lots of paths to follow, birds to see, and things to see. Great place to stop!

We had a great walk along this park. It was both a great relaxing walk & an educational trip. The signage along the park gave the visitors a good lesson of the canal and history of the park. This is a must-see if you are visiting the South Carolina capitol; It is free of charge, lots of parking; and walk...

The park is great. There are several very interesting historic sites/monuments, including a story about the Irish indentured servants who built the canal and an old hydro-electric plant. The entire park is very clean and beautifully landscaped. On one side there's the peaceful waters of the canal and on the other there's the fast moving river current with whitewater and...

What a remarkable Park. So many trails (shaded), a neat old waterworks building and dam. Great views of wildlife and clean restrooms. The water treatment plant was also fun to read about and see.
We decided to spend some time here on a Saturday evening while staying in town. The sights were pretty cool, but it was prom night and was very busy with people getting pictures and such. Lots of people out and about doing yoga, running, and walking the trail.

good for walking/jogging down the side of the river or even watching wildlife. best times are early to late spring and early summer months. biking and hiking are available. watch out for possible alligators along the canal area (DO NOT MOLEST OR FEED THEM, ITS A FELONY)
Had a few hours to kill before dropping our son off at Fort Jackson and walked along the canal. Very nice park and well kept. Although short, would be good for bikes too. Scenic walk for a downtown location. Alot of history too.
It's a great place to walk, and interesting. My dog loves walking with friends and me there, although the historical aspect is lost on her.
Great place to walk, run, bike with views of the river and canal. Lots of wildlife on the river. Paved paths recently expanded. Picnic areas. Be sure to check for special events.
