Nice bridge, nice walk. That's it. Have a drink or coffee on the other side and come back. Nice view on the river.

Its a treat to walk on this bridge across the TN river. Fun things to do & eat on both sides. It's a happy little respit in the middle of Chattanooga, and easy to get to from downtown or the North Shore.
I loved how many people were outside walking, riding their bikes, running, etc. across this bridge. The views are great and it's nice that it is pedestrian only and you don't have to worry about cars. Great spot for walking your dog or just enjoying the nice weather.
The bridge spans the beautiful Tennesse River. You can take in several scenic elements all at the same time from this high position. The boats in the area are interesting and educational. Wine/food tasting events bring droves of people out to mingle and taste the local cuisines. These events are worth your time.
We walk this bridge every time we're in Chattanooga. It's a nice walk from one side to the other (from the Aquarium side to Coolidge Park). This is a must for first timers to the area... and it will become a favorite for every return thereafter!
The Walnut Bridge is a nice walk to traverse the river. Great view of the art museum. Links the arts area to a large park and area with restaurants and shops.
This once traveled by cars bridge is now a "foot traffic" only bridge (well, and bikes) features scenic views of the Riverfront in Chattanooga, access to Chattanooga's "Northshore" community and Coolidge Park. The sunset views from the bridge are fabulous, even breathtaking. This is the largest footbridge in the world, saved from the scrapheap by a bunch of concerned citizens...

Loved the bridge. Great views and pleasant stroll. Loved the downtown area but what a rip off parking is. $7 for just 2 hours is just arrogant greed. On street meter parking is no better.
Refused to pay it. Was just voting with my feet when we drove up a hill and found an all day car park for $3....

We arrive at Walnut Street Bridge early in the evening when a few others are enjoying it like we intend to. As we stroll across the bridge, the sun is bidding the Chattanooga farewell for the day and we occasionally stop to take in sunset views of the city and the river below.
It is a relaxing atmosphere as we...

We loved viewing the river and the city from the bridge. The view of the art museum is spectacular. We stopped and had ice cream at one end before returning to the park on the other side. What a great way to spend time outside in Chattanooga.
