We visit the Orpheum Theater several times a year, the latest was to see the Broadway production of "Mary Poppins"....which was great! It's the closest thing to Broadway in our part of the world. If you're looking for a tradition to start with your children, this is a great choice! I began bringing my daughter as soon as she was...

A comfortable venue that is just the right size for live theatre performances, classic movies and intimate types of concerts. I love the balcony, but have your walking shoes on!
Great atmosphere. Beautiful old style opera and playhouse. Features many off Broadway productions and many famous plays and musicals. Each year is a surprise at the variety of entertainment.
The Orpheum is a beautiful theater. From Turandot to Leonard Cohen, it's always a treat to be there.
The Orpheum Theater has been restored to it's original glorious opulence. The architecture is stunningly beautiful. There is not a bad seat in the house.

I was really pleasantly surprised, thinking it might be a bit run down since it is an older theater......Btw, I saw MDQ in NY and Memphis. Same exact show, wonderful sound...

The best was when I go to Tyler Perrys plays where they allow a mixed drink in the orpheum during the play!
