Compact but very well laid out, this museum is only about a block from Beale St., so you can get the story of the evolution of the blues, rock, and soul -- and then head over to the clubs and juke joints and enjoy it all live. Learned a lot about Delta history and how it contributed to the music,... More

While travelling with 2 teens and 1 pre-teen, we visited this museum. It was interesting to all. If your kids are really into music and old rock and roll, they will like this museum.

Even though I went to other museums, this one was one that I also enjoyed visiting. Brought back a lot of memories of the music I grew up with.

For the price of admission, I used my AAA discount it still wasn't worth the price. It was a totally self guided tour with whisper headsets. We did the tour in less than 45 min. Nothing special, we really enjoyed the Sun Studio tour much better, they also honor AAA with a discount.

This museum is part of the Smithsonian Institution group and was very well done. Lots of memorabilia to see, lots of information from the self-guided tour recording that you are given when you walk in. My favorite part was the 10-minute video at the beginning of the museum. Lots of reminiscing, lots of gold music.

we only stopped here to kill some time and wound up spending hours, enjoying every minute. you go through the tour at your own pace, there is so much to see, read about and listen to! Many different decades and types of music - you can't go wrong. Highly recommend!

Did not expect to like this Museum as much as we did. Loved the layout and the fact that you can listen to music for each display that was both engaging and informative. More geared to adults as not so interactive for the kids....music and history pitched to the older crowd but for such a small place they did themselves... More

Wonderful memories of that era revived. Personal earphones and go at your own pace, was prefect for us both. Could have stayed an hour longer but had to drag ourselves away to see other things. Really good and well set out.....well recommended to visit.

This museum tells the story of african americans migrating into the Memphis area and bringing their music; the blues. And on from there to rock, etc. A most worthwhile visit in Memphis.
