This was me and my husband's first camping trip as a couple. We enjoyed the park very much. Very short distance from San Antonio. Park was maintained very well. Amenities were spot on. We made the mistake however of camping in the RV side of the park. Next time we'll stay in the electricity//water only sites. Quaint little town. We... More

I traveled with my sister and her husband in their 5th wheel and we used Blanco State Park as our "home base" to travel to Fredericksburg, Austin and San Antonio. It is a very nice State Park compete with river, a "pool" that the river flows into and a nature trail. The sites are a little close together but it... More

It has a nice looking area for campers but the walking trail is a bummer. Better to just walk on the paved road by the river.

My wife and I stayed here over the New Years Holiday. Being off-season the park was kind of quiet which was nice. Unfortunately, it rained pretty much the whole time we were there. This park is well kept and layed out nicely. While I don't have anything negative to say about the park I wouldn't stay there again. When we... More

Having gone by this park too many times, we finally stopped. And we were very pleasantly surprised. The RV park is along the Blanco River, which had flowing, clear water. We hiked along the river and watched the variety of birds. I am a CCC fan and the park was a CCC project. You can see the evidence of their... More

Very nice park. Close to the water from anywhere in the park. Took our 12 year old and a couple of his friends to the park for his 12th birthday. They had a blast in the water at the dam. We were there at the end of September 2012. The weather was fantastic - nice during the day and cool... More

I've been to Blanco so many times and just now discovered this park. It has a beautiful canopy of trees and the trails are well maintained. I plan to wear my running shoes next time!

Peaceful, relaxing park along the Blanco river. Swimming & camping and good for fishing & taking it easy along the river.

This park is convenient to Blanco and supplies. The water level varies in sections and it is a popular family picnic site.

http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/state-parks/blanco (830) 833-4333. Admission $4/adults, kids 12 and under, free. Like many State Parks in Texas, this little gem was created during the Great Depression by gifts of land and purchases from local residents. The Civilian Conservation Corps, a US government jobs program, built the majority of the facilities used today between 1933 and 1935. The Pavilion is a good... More
