Great small town, everyone knows everyone and helps theur neighbors when needed (West We always stay at the Country Inn and Cottages out in the country,so quite, great cabins. No trip there would be without a trip to visit and buy for Joe at The Texas Silver Rush.

Lots of parking in the rear of the visitors center. Large, clean restrooms. We were greeted at the door by friendly staff. They answered questions we had. Picked up maps, brochures, etc. Hotel/motel visitors taxes at work!

It was really good to go visit this little German town. There were a lot of shops and restaurants at this area. We didn't spend a lot of time there because it really wasn't that big. However, I would recommend to visit all the museum because they were pretty interesting (good for kids also!). If you have friends visiting, I... More

My husband's family is from Fredericksburg so we visit periodically. This trip was more enjoyable because of the energy of the other visitors. There are so many things to do whether shopping on Main Street and enjoying German food in one of the many restaurants. Visitors can walk all over and enjoy the town. The Fredericksburg Brewery's Biergarten is a... More

Germans settled in this region of Texas and you can still see some of that influence. You also get great western storefronts. Fun shopping and strolling.

There is an abundance of literature and pamphlets here to enhance your stay in Fredericksburg. You can spend hours trying to look at everything but take my advice, Ask the extremely helpful ladies anything and they will direct you right to what your looking for. Clean bathrooms too!

Started day with National Museum of the Pacific Wars which is a must! Even those who aren't THAT into history should see...new appreciation for the true price of freedom. Many shops line both sides of the long main street. They range from German bakery, clothing, home interiors, kitchen, jewelry, toys to antiques. Only a couple were closed on this Wednesday..??... A real western type town. The shopping is great though a bit pricey. Be sure to stop in and have a cup of Texas pecan coffee. Bought a lovely pair of handmade cowboy boots on Adams street at LM Easterling. Stop in - if you find a pair that fit you - they are half off - otherwise if you... More

Don't miss this show. Funny and entertaining. Get seats close to front so you get Barney Fiff's full impact. Nedra is a soulful lovely lady with a voice that transcends time. Keyboard player ROCKS.

We requested information from various places and everyone was so accommodating, one of the best visitors center. We were able to plan well for our 30 day adventure in the Texas hill country.
