Even though the trip only takes about 20 minutes, it is and always has been a thrill. You usually see porposes during the trip. Lots of folks park in their lot and just ride across and back. This is really a lot of fun for kids who have never been on a boat, too. You pass the Seawolf Park with... More

We live close to Galveston and ride the ferry as often as we can. Always a fun trip - feed the seagulls or watch the dolphins.

You can park and walk on. Climb the stairs to the observation deck and enjoy the ride across the bay and back. If you remember to bring bread or crackers, stand at the back of the ferry and feed the seagulls!

Been going to Galveston for close to 30 years now, we always ride the ferry, just for the fun of it. Usually spot dolphins or something in the area. Love watching the seagulls. It's just part of Galveston experience.

Park onshore and walk on or drive your car right onto the Ferry - either way it is 100% Free! Nice harbor ride so don't waste your money on the Colonel Paddle Wheeler. Look for the dolphis! If you have bread to feed the gullls they will swamp you.

We love parking and walking on to ride the ferry. We go to the front and watch for dolphins! Building memories with our kids! And it is FREE!

The ferry has always been one of my favorite attractions in Galveston. When I was a kid, I loved it. Now that I have three kids of my own, they love it. At the front of the ferries, you can keep watch for dolphins. We saw quite a few on our ride this weekend. Also, the seagulls will take bread... More

A very pretty and fun way to cross from Galveston to Port Bolivar. I do a lot of painting and sketch work and I felt the urge to pull out my art supplies and sketch a fishing boat nearby. Very pretty!

No fee ferry crossing and cut time off the trip, recommend driving down Bolivar Pensinsula, interesting scenery and houses to look at
