If you don't fish, this is still a nice walk out to the pier! This was completely rebuilt after Hurricane Ike & is better than ever!

Visited a pier somewhere around 66th street. Walked out on the pier, stopped in the store, got ice cream, and walked up to the second level to view the gulf. Great view of the gulf, ships, platforms, seawall and people fishing. Nice and relaxing on a beautiful day.
Nothing to see here - Gift shop. When we visited in late March, it was so windy if a person did attempt to cast a line, it might end up in their hair.
I'm sorry that you found it too windy at the pier. The pier is on the beach which, typically, is windy. It was quite windy at the end of March this year, however, this seems to be more of a review of the weather and not of the pier itself. Did anyone catch anything? Did they enjoy the beautiful view...

We decided to take the trip from Waco and take our son fishing there. He had a blast!!. We loved the atmosphere. The employees were very helpful. The frequent fisherman at the pier were very friendly and were giving our son fishing tips! He caught a sheephead, flounder, two small sharks, 3 whities, 2 catfish and a yellow fin. Some...

We fished at the pier and although its nice, its very expensive. We paid $10 per person. My wife just wanted to sit with us, but they charged $10 for her too. They charged $8 for a pole and bait was more expensive than I've paid in Rockport or South Padre. We did see 3 people catch some huge black...

Caught a black tip shark and a red fishing to take home for a nice meal. Had a lot of bits from small sharks, catfish, and a few red fish but let them go due to them being to small. For fishing lovers this is a good place in Galveston to do so.
We have visited the pier a couple of times, stopping in for a beer and watching the fishermen. From our condo we can see the pier all day long and with my binoculars I can see flocks of pelicans assemble there in the evening.
Looks old. Tito is a very interesting character. Fun to go up top and watch the fishermen and watch for dolphins. We got lucky one day and saw a lot of them. Coffee is not great, but gives you a pass to go up top. We are here for two months and have been there several times. A good place...

The fishing is great here, they can furnish everything. No food, but lots right across the street. they have bait, rods and reels, everything. It is 10 to get in for 24 hours plus your stuff. However, you can fish on the walkway for free and many people do. We love it here. SHhhh don't tell.
