The Railroad is serviced by two vintage locomotives which include "Puffy" the 1896 Steam locomotive and oldest continously operating steam engine in the South, and a 1953 GP-7 diesel locomotive. Passengers enjoy riding in authentic 1920s and 1930s Victorian - style coaches as they take a step back in time and experience train travel as it was in the glory days of the expanding West. Pull into the Fort Worth Stockyards Station and you'll be right in the middle of the Stockyards National Historic District where the Old West comes alive. Have fun at this outstanding retail and entertainment district. « less

This is great train at any time except during the summer. There is no air conditioning and we just about melted into the seats. Otherwise it is a short ride to the Stock yards in Fort Worth were there is great BBQ and western town entertainment. It is more enjoyable to go when the steam engine is running rather than... More

The train ride to Fort Worth is fun. The train is a little slow and the time in Fort Worth could be longer but overall it is a nice trip. The staff on the train are really friendly. Once in Fort Worth there are plenty of places to eat and drink as well as the whole western cowboy vibe. Seeing... More

Totally unprepared. Sold out train ride on Easter. Took our granddaughter. She was excited about the Easter egg hunt after the train ride. After waiting in line for over half of the train ride for a bag of popcorn, we got back to our seats just in time to pay for our photos that the photographer took when we boarded.... More

3 confirmed tickets and away we went. All staff were volunteers. The wine tasting was great fun and met lots of new "friends". A high recommend for this adventure and for the city of Grapevine. Get your tickets early as the seating sells out. We had a climate controlled train car and I would recommend it. It was very cold... More

The ride is a little long, and the stay at the stockyards is a little short, but overall, the trip is a fun weekend activity. The scenery is mostly neighborhoods and businesses, but the train is beautiful and almost like a time machine on wheels. The snacks are reasonable priced, too.

Grapevine is all about preserving a bit of history and the still functioning rail tracks are one more excuse to reach back in time. The ride to Fort Worth can seem a bit long, especially the last 20-30 minutes. I'm glad we drove a car back to Grapevine. The old Grapevine Train Station is a delight.

It is cute, fun but pricey for what you get. Everything came with a price tag....even visiting with Santa. Was cute for a one time thing but not worth the repeat.

I love the historic train in Grapevine. It takes you all the way to the Stockyards in Fort Worth where you can spend several hours walking around and shopping at the leather shop and many other businesses at the train depot. I suggest you take some ear plugs for the babies. The sound of the train whisle was extremely loud... More
