It's a very beautiful park and really great for an afternoon stroll. There are some restaurants and seemingly a lot of activities. I believe I saw you can rent paddle boats. Right in front of minute maid park as well.

I took my niece here when she cam in town. It's a pretty park, but it's in midtown, where finding parking is difficult. Also, there were so many children there, it was not fun. The playground was also small and crowded to the point that the whole experience was not enjoyable.

I have not walked around the entire park, but the spots I've been to are very nice. There are several festivals held here regularly, and I plan to attend soon.

This is one of Houson's newer parks. It's very easy to get there, the free green bus stops here and is walkable from Downtown. There is a little cafe, a stage where events are sometimes held and a pretty lake.

This park contains everything from a kids play placeto a water park, from scenic walks with lots of beautiful flowers and trees to kayaking on Sundays in the ponds, from a dog park (that contains two separate dog runs for large and small dogs) to restaurants within the park to snack at or to have a nice sit down meal.... It's not NYC central park...but it's a great little island of green in downtown Houston. Walk around, there are some trees. Nice restaurant on the premises. We've been several times for outdoor concerts etc. and it's a really nice spot.

We had our anniversary dinner on the discovery green, trying to mimic our first date restaurant which had a very scenic view. Houston, incidentally is not a scenic place, and the discovery green didn't deliver for us. It's just a city block of grass, essentially. There's a little fountain, but minimal landscaping. Perfect afternoon hanging out on the greens, getting a bite to eat at the Lake House Restaurant, with great people watching. Plenty of families enjoying the fountains, people with their pets, and even a talk on Houston Architecture was well attended by people sprawled out on blankets with picnics. Just idyllic. Right down town. Lots of green. People enjoying themselves. Just across from the George R. Brown Convention Center with good food a short walk away
