If you are driving through Waco, this place is worth the stop. It is located about 2 miles west of the interstate off exit 335B. Lots of shade. Will take 1-2 hours. Has a very nice indoor aquarium exhibit with fish, snakes, and frogs. Adults $9, kids $6, and free for kids under 3.

From humble beginnings, the Cameron Park Zoo is now one of the outstanding zoos in the United States. It has native enclosures that closely resemble the animals' natural habitats. Special breeding programs are in place, and much work is done in cooperation with other zoos to promote many species. The zook provides fun and education at the same time, and... More

Affordable entrance fee, great shaded (most of the time) path through the zoo. Well maintained and beautifully landscaped. Fun interactive items throughout for kiddos. Playground/splash pad area. We love it!

Since traveling to southern Africa, going on several different safaris, and seeing animals in their natural habitats, I've been skeptical about visiting zoos and seeing animals in enclosures. Over the Memorial Day holiday weekend, I visited cousins who had just moved to the Waco area and since Cameron Park Zoo was the #1-rated attraction on TA, we decided to spend... More

Really liked this zoo more than San Antonio zoo. They don't have every animal but the ones they have are in nice enclosures. It seemed like the facilities for children were very good. The tigers were the best of show. They were playing and tussling like kittens.

Nice zoo with lots of walking exercise. Staff was very friendly and informative. It was a little difficult to find as there were not many road signs. It was very family friendly... a great place to take children in strollers.

The zoo is well laid out and the animals are in exceptional conditions. There are air conditioned buildings to duck into out of the heat and local companies have sponsored covered areas to walk under and there are ample play areas for active kids.

This zoo was very clean. inexpensive and great for kids... Lots of shade while you walked the grounds. Animals look like they were healthy and well taken care of. A great way to spend some family time...
