Because it was a Sunday and services were being held, we viewed the church only from the outside. And that was enough to impress us. This church exudes peace. It is beautiful.

This is a lovely little church with a lot of history. The woman who was working there was happy to tell us all about the history of the church, funny things like how the men and women sat on opposite sides of the balcony and to note how the men's side was filled with old graffiti while the women's side... We have seen this church in the summer and the winter. The church is beautiful no matter what season you visit. Christmastime, the doors are decked with tasteful wreaths and the snow makes it look so clean and pure. Do take the time to wander through the cemetary - there are many interesting grave stones.

Take the time to visit The Old First Church. It is on a georgeous tree lined street, just a little walk from the Bennington Battle Momument. Stroll through the old graveyard. Visit the grave of Robert Frost and his wife. Just a beautiful spot to enjoy your visit to Bennington. Enjoy it, we sure did.

Well maintained, still functional church is a bit of history that shouldn't be missed. Go at 11a.m. on Sunday to hear the bells ring and listen to the pipe organ! Did I mention a graveyard full of Heros who fought in the Revolutionary War? Very moving.

We stopped here just for the heck of it not realizing the history of the church and the grounds. Church is truly classic New England and the cemetery is full of history and classic Colonial tombstones

Beyond beautiful church, with a knowledgeable docent inside. Well maintained, and so worth a visit. Church history and an array of postcards available inside.

I didn't enter the church but simply explored the church grounds and marveled at the structure itself. The church grounds are well maintained. The cemetery on the grounds of the church is filled headstones of revolutionary war soldiers which all have markers denoting that. Also, Robert Frost is buried in the cemetary.
