Very nice bus ride to see the northern herd on Assateague... its air conditioned, and away from the mosquitoes... but it fills up fast, so get your tickets ahead of time...

The CNHA is the friends organization of the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuse. It is one of the larges groups in the US that support the wildlife refuses across the country. They use their funds to assist with educational, and instructional programs to further promote the projects of the system.

Dont miss this trip if you want to get a real good look at the horses & foals that you cant see any other way. So cute & great photo op for all!

We got to see the wild ponies up close several times, bus guide was friendly, knowledgeable and patient while we took pictures. Although you can't get off the bus (due to safety regulations) we were able to get amazing pictures of the ponies and they were right beside the bus. Definitely would recommend this! We saw a lot of wildlife on the tour and the bus driver gave a lot of interesting information. There also happened to be some avid photographers who could identify a lot of the horses by name which made it interesting. Warning: There are no restroom facilities during the 1 1/2 to 2 hour tour!

Went on this tour on Oct. 20th and truly felt that it was a waste of money. Driver was not at all enthusiastic, obvious that she was very bored with doing this tour. We saw bald eagles, ponies up close and lots of birds. great history also. Our deiver was great. This is a 7 1/2 mile drive, different than the wildlife loop and worth every pennie. Not expensive.
