It was a bit confusing to find this memorial we walked around & past it a few times because this memorial is mostly on the ground, it has these large bronze "letters" that look like they have been scattered by the wind. I think there were around 20 of them, written from the 1800's until Iraq war. Letters of service... More

They were truly touching, tear-inducing and eye opening. Every citizen should visit this memorial and REALLY read these letters: "give them... More

This is my far the best thing we saw. Reading all those letters from the soldiers was very humbling.

Quiet, tasteful, thought-provoking. I especially liked the location, so close to the "Wisky". Perfect.

(Actually visited in 2010, but the dates to choose from didn't go back that far - slow to write this review!) This is a walled area looking out onto the river, with bronze letter pages on the ground, as if they've been scattered there. Each one is a page from the last letter sent home by a soldier at war... I had never heard of it in the city's marketing literature, but stumbled onto the Armed Forces Memorial, at the city point near Nauticus. It is a small diamond-shaped area sticking out into the river, with about 20 bronze replicas of letters 'scattered' about the ground (firmly in place, but they looked scattered). Each is an excerpt from a letter... More
