A lovely peaceful setting whichin recent years, oweing to much less pollution, has became quite a haven for wildlife. Only Runcorn Hill is better for that. There is a small building with a ranger who can help you with various information etc

It's a lovely place to walk and bird watch. As you look out across the mersey estuary you could be anywhere in the world...but then you see the famous 8 towers!!
We often pop down to Wigg Island and do a circular walk that takes about 50 minutes without stopping.Great views of the Bridge and Mersey plus excellent for bird watchers. Shame about the visitor centre closing due to lack of government spending
Ample free parking, nice walk with the dog great little place with some great views across the mersey
A well appointed Park on the Mersey Estuary with several well positioned bird hides giving great views over the estuary and salt marsh. A quiet place to stroll round and enjoy a big sky.
I live 5 minutes from Wigg Island and nip down there many time throughout the year, both on foot and by Bike, top tip, take the side road along the side of the Manchester ship canal if you want a decent Bike ride, just follow the track and you will end up at Moore Nature reserve, another top place, on...

A great afternoon out to blow away the cobwebs. We take the kids for walks and cycle rides around the different paths. There are picnic benches dotted around and lots of things for the kids to explore. They love to look out over the water at the various birds etc.
great for walking the dog, or just walking in general..the nature reserve is great for the kids on their bikes or scooters...just wish dog owners would be more responsible and scoop the poop, thats the only thing that lets the place down !!
Ok but to much doggie doos on the floor. Wise up & pick up your dogs poo dirty dog owners. And now they are ruining it even more by clearing trees to accomodate the new mersey crossing.......not good
Good community park with excellent views of the Mersey estuary. Brilliant for dog walking. Cn be a bit smelly though if the wind blows the wrong way from Widnes!
