This little museum is right on the boardwalk near 12th Street and is in the first brick structure built on Virginia Beach.

We stopped by here to find a geocache outside of the building and decided to take a look around inside. There was a large number of hand carved duck decoys on display and many were for sale. We were fortunate to meet a man that carves decoys on site.

Unfortunately, there is limited breakfast snack food and beverage service on site and, what there is really is expensive. You are prohibited from bringing in outside breakfast snacks.

This small pleasant museum has information, pictures, exhibits, sculptures and decoys covering the wide variety of waterfowl from this area. The museum is housed in the oldest building along the coast--a 1895 home converted into a museum. A pleasant stop which is free.

This area is on/near the migratory flyway. This is the place to a learn about that and some of the history of the area

Been there many times and enjoyed every one. Warm and comfortable with a wonderful and one of the best carving displays I have seen. Watching the carvers is an education. Definitely will continue to support the museum and I hope you will to.

This is a nice stop if you're on the beach and looking for something a little different. This and the Old Coast Guard Station are some of the only non-beach-oriented venues that you can visit. My husband and I spent about two hours looking at the duck decoys, the paintings and all the merchandise for sale. We encourage everyone to support the museum. If you are into duck hunting and carvings this is a wonderful place to go. We met three gentlemen in the boat shed who were carving. The museum is a wonderful small museum with some great history. I would recommend it.
