While visiting Williamsburg it is fun to eat at one of the taverns. We heard this was a great place to try. The service is provided in period style - re-enactments as in the rest of the town. The appetizers were terrific. We thought we were in for a great meal. However, the entrees lacked luster and were a bit... More

Our first stop here was for dinner. Colonial tavern theater at its best. We were excited to have a chance to see what it was like, the food, drink, etc. we all had a cocktail to start with the cheese and confit plate. On to dinner and we had relishes (who knew their intended purpose was to cover up foul... More

The desserts are amazing. The cocktails well made. The service was great. If you get a chance to dine at this location do it. Reccomend getting dinner reservations in advance if it is a busy day.

We learned from a previous disappointment to make sure to arrive before the closed time 2:30 to dinner hour, because we did not want to miss seeing this historic setting. Cold weather specialty drinks --cider with a little extra something and Hot Buttered Rum hit the spot. A pleasant rest and warming break. Just make sure it is open when... More

I've been going to the King's Arms Tavern for a while now and was very disappointed this past weekend to find out the mashed potatoes have been removed from the menu, entirely. My favorite dish of all is the, "Dish of Beef". It's the reason I make a point to eat there everytime I go to Williamsburg. It used to... More

We have been eating at the King's Arms for years and we keep coming back for more. The Tavern is nice for a candlelit dinner for two or with a crowd. If you show any interest at all in history they will share all sorts of interesting facts about the place and give you a better idea of how things... More

The food and beer was great. The service excellent. I should have eaten here all three days. It was the best restaurant in the tourist area. Nice building too. Didnt feel rushed. Friendly waiter. But the food is what counts and it was delicious and not very expensive.

Set to look like it would have in the 1700s, Kings Arms Tavern has a large selection of food. Some is modern. Some pertaining to Virginia and some is from recipes in the 1700s. I highly reccomend the peanut soup.

The King's Arms still has the best food among the taverns, the atmosphere is romantic, the strolling musicians tend to be the best in town, and the service is excellent. I've been here many times and always enjoyed it. Be sure to try the peanut soup. And do check availability and make a reservation when planning your trip.
