If it hadn't been so rainy and windy it would have been a lot more fun. We definitely plan to go back and spend some time walking the jetty rocks and looking for interesting things on the beach behind it.

During the summer this is a great place just to lay and let the water waves splash on you. I like to walk on this part of the beach because no cars are allowed to drive.
Although this is a little ways out of town to the South, I think it's well worth the trip. The jetty reaches out into the ocean for quite a bit. You can climb on the HUGE rocks and see for miles. Watch an ocean liner stage out in the ocean to make the run into the Columbia River, Experience waves...

The jetty is just the south end of a long wide beach. The wildlife is amazing! Climb a dune and see for miles, with Gray Whales, Pelicans, Eagles, peeping shorebirds, sea lions, seals, and more all pretty common.

Give this at least an hour and dress warmly--its a bit of a challenge but well worth it. There are porta-potties there. Its a fun and free way to experience marine life.

Huge ships can often be seen going in and out of the...

You can see for miles and the waves crashing on the big rocks are fascinating to watch. Picture opportunities are endless.
It's a good place to just watch the power of nature as massive waves crash against the man-made rock jetty. Calming and awe-inspiring at the same time.
The beach itself is a little different each visit, due to the wave patterns coming off the jetty. I saw a big concentration of rocks and agates one time, and just plain sandy...
