I have been to many conservatories over the years and this is one of the best because all the plants are very clearly yet unobtrusively labeled, with very interesting facts about them. Reading and marveling about these interesting plants made the trip last a good 30 minutes. The kids (6 and 8) enjoyed the visit as well. Parking on the... More

This is a lovely, small conservatory on the eastern edge of Wright Park that is very well maintained. There are many tropical plants as well as a small pond with koi and a waterfall. Several benches line the path where you can sit and visit or just sit and enjoy the surroundings. There is a little gift shop at one... More

Why pay thousands of bucks to crowd into Hawaiian forests with hordes of smelly tourists when you can luxuriate in a quiet, secluded, and beautiful space surrounded by flowers? The exhibits change on a regular basis, and the bubbling flow of water into the goldfish pond is balm for the soul. The Seymour is a blessing any time, but especially... More

I’ve visited the Seymour Conservatory several times over the years. It’s a great historic conservatory that’s taken care of. Though small, it’s filled with beautiful plants as well as a pond filled with colorful goldfish. It’s a great place to visit on a cold wet day, since it’s warm and dry inside. There is no fee to enter, but there... More

A must see if you are visiting the area. We have seen it with friends and family members over the many years because the setting is so unique with the adjacent park and playground. It's a very relaxing place on those cold, dreary days. The gift store I think provides a funding source for the conservatory to keep this gem... More

Tiny conservatory in the middle of a beautiful park with labeled trees. It was interesting to see the historic building, but they certainly could have done without the gift shop that had the usual ticky tacky souvenirs. Add more plants. Great display of mums.

This is a unique landmark in the center of Wright Park, Tacoma's version "Central Park." Visit on a dreary fall or winter day when you need a little tropical foliage. It's small, but worth a visit, especially if you couple it with a walk in the park.

"Small is Beautiful" could have been another "Title" of my short review. My wife and I enjoy the spectacular trees and flowers but also the koi. This place offers a perfect 'relax moment'.
