From other reviews, I expected a more professional place.. They do have a huge collection, but they were not good at telling the story of WV glass making. It's a bit of a hodge podge. Nice volunteers.

This place is amazing. It has grown exponentially since my last visit a decade ago. It's cool because they not only have gorgeous decorative glass--they also have displays of glassmaking equipment and utilitarian glass. And it's free--what more can you ask for?

The Museum of American Glass in West Virginia is a 'must see' for every glass collector. There are beautiful displays that are ever changing, interactive opportunities, a fully stocked research library and archives, a small Museum Store that includes individual dealer cases, paperweights, books, monographs on a variety of glass related subjects, and etc., etc. The Museum is constantly expanding... The day was HOT, we had an hour to kill before going to the TALA so we walked around town and came upon this museum. The window displays drew us in. Several year ago we toured the Corning Museum of Glass in NY and loved it. But what we saw there was mostly art glass. What this little museum has... More

I just happened to be in the area with some time to kill and found a brochure for this place and thought I'd check it out. I'm glad I stopped. Great collections and very helpful/knowledgeable staff. They'll be expanding soon so next time I'm in the area I'll have to check it out again. I really liked the marble collection.

This is a very nice display of American GLass. I learned alot about the Glass industry in WV that I had not know, even though I grew up in this area. I am glad I did not take my children, that would have been a disaster! Be sure to use street parking r park at the public parking across from... More

If you like or love glass make this a must stop on your next vacation. The museum has one of the most extensive collections of glass made in the USA that I have ever seen. I've loved glass since I was in high school, but I've never seen a collection like this. It's telling that their annual glass conference draws... More
