5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2013 NEW

This is a classic 19th C mansion now isolated in a sea of non-descript buildings that has a fascinating history. It was interesting to see it with its on-going restoration being part of its tale. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and able to answer questions. Maybe not so great for families, but adults with any interest in history, especially of... More

Our guide was very informative and seemed really enthusiastic about her job. The home is fascinating--it's really neat that it managed to be so well preserved. Being as it's a work in progress, it will be interesting to visit again a few years from now to see what restoration has been completed. Don't be weirded out if you arrive for... More

The tour docent was incredibly knowledgeable of the house and family and the house itself is beautifully preserved and restored without being stuffy. The restoration continues on the second floor, but they are doing things right -- slowly and from actual photos of the original furnishings. Nevertheless, there's plenty to look at. Our tour lasted the full hour and involves... More

A beautiful house museum of the Pabst (beer) family located on what used to be rich man's row in Milwaukee. This house is wonderfully preserved, thankfully after the family had to sell up the Milwaukee Catholic Diocese took it over and other than painting all of the original stunning woodwork white, did not do anything to destroy the rooms or... The tour & most of the rooms are as they were - be prepared to climb stairs if you want to see it all.

This was a wonderful tour put on by the local historical society, and it truly was the best value for the money. At $9 per person (and you can save a few dollars finding a coupon in some of the local travel books), you'll get a two-hour, well-interpreted home tour by an informed, passionate docent. Loved the history of both... More

We have been here a few times in the past but were very surprised to see they are continuing to expand the memorabilia collection and the restoration of the home.

We toured the Pabst Mansion on a whim, arriving just as a tour was starting, so no waiting which was great. $9 admission and a volunteer docent walked through the rooms and made the Pabst family come alive while giving details ranging from the woodwork, furniture, construction methods, and the wonderful copy of an original letter written by Mr. Pabst... We toured The Pabst Mansion and were very impressed with the docents knowledge. The interior is breathtaking and you really get a feel for how the family lived and how modern their home was back then.

Would definitely recommend doing this tour. We picked up a half- price deal on Groupon but it would still be well worth it at full price. It's a beautiful historical mansion and the inside is just gorgeous with extensive woodworking detail. You need to see and experience! Our guide was fantastic and VERY knowledgeable about the building and gave us... More
