We just visited Chicago, and overall, the exhibitions in town weren't that exciting, so we decided to do a road trip one day to visit the Kohler Arts Center to see the exhibition and installation of the Emery Blagdon artworks and his Healing Machine environment. This is a spectacular exhibition, and it was the best thing we did on our... More

I visited when they had a traveling photo exhibit. Between viewing the items on permanent display and the stunning photos, I lost all track of time. The arts center is well laid out and spacious. You can be there on a busy day yet move around in a relaxed way. It's also not too far from the city's waterfront, where... More

Unbelievably fun visit and what a surprise to find very cool art in such a small town. I found a number of things to be interesting and discussion worthy, and the addition of a place where you can sit and draw your surroundngs was really fun - check out a drawing kit and draw a monkey made of grass, and... The JMKAC is always a treat. I visit two or three times a year. I love the non-traditional exhibits. It is well worth the stop, and it is free. ( they do accept donations).

While two galleries were down setting up the next exhibit, 4 were still open. Great variety, and I liked that the exhibits were a bit more adventurous than most. Friendly desk, took lots of time to tell us about the exhibits and other stuff in the area. No photography allowed. They obviously have a lot of classes as well as... More

Don't be afraid, have someone make sure the opposite sex loo is empty and then go in! The men's bathrooms are actually (in my opinion) much more interesting than the women's. We saw the Levi Fisher exhibit and it was of great interest to my 10 year old boy. I loved the Emery Blagdon works. We found very little to... More

This is one of the finest museums I've ever visited. The grounds are gorgeous, the art is world-class. Always rotating shows of visionary (outsider) art. I will go back to Sheboygan just to see this museum.

The John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan is a must see museum, with a suggested donation fee. This is a small museum, in a beautiful building, including an outdoor garden walk with small sculptures. The exhibits are quite unique. There are also 4 bathrooms open for all to see (sometimes you need to wait until they are empty) that... More
