As a home roaster myself, I had shot down a good number of farms that only sold Vienna or French roasts (probably trying to hide defects) before even visiting them. I visited Greenwell later on and didn't even taste anything remarkable about their coffee including their "private estate" coffee grown on-site. I didn't bother buying their green beans sourced from... More

I'm a home roaster and coffee geek, so I didn't know if the rest of my party would be bored. From a welcoming greeting to an informational tour, all of us had a good time. Some highlights: -Having three different roasts available for tasting. -Tour guides who seem to enjoy their jobs. -The roaster (I'm building a new one myself,... More

Aloha Craig We are so pleased that you and your party had a good time. We love it when people enjoy themselves on our farm. When you come back next time, maybe the passion fruit (lilikoi) will be ripe. Mahalo Karen More

I have visited Hula Daddy twice, once in December 2011 and also just last month. I wanted to bring my friends on the tour, but it was closed on Sunday. I went back on Monday with my boyfriend when it reopened. This place has gotten larger since I first came here. They used to not sell tea, but I think... More

Really loved driving along the road through the Holoula area. Great views, quaint shops (most closed on the day we drove through) and very picturesque. Drove past the UCC Coffee property and that reminded us that we wanted to stop and taste some coffee. So we pulled in at the next coffee business we came across; Hula Daddy's. The buidling... More

Aloha I remember your visit. This was the first time you and your friends had tried Kona Coffee. You told me that it didn't taste burnt and that you were used to coffee that tasted burnt. (Tim Hortons, Starbucks??) The taste of "burnt" is a coffee defect. We work very hard to not have the taste of "burnt." Great Kona... More

We landed at the Kona airport and headed straight up to the Hula Daddy Farm! We have been drinking Hula Daddy Coffee at home and could not wait to see where it comes from and meet the wonderful people that make it happen! We felt welcome from the moment we arrived and the views are amazing! We were treated to... More

Would highly recommend visiting this coffee farm. This was our first time visiting a coffee farm in HI! Would definitely go back to visit again. The coffee and the chocolate covered expresso beans are wonderful.

I tasted it for the first time on this wonderful tour. It is my new favorite tea. It is made from the husk and the pulp of the coffee bean. There are so many nice things I can say about this tour and coffee tasting (which occurs in this modern large kitchen, right in the plantation house). The view from... More

This place is cute! The tour is free and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. She showed us the plantation, then the coffee-making process. Coffee was really good, kinda expensive though. The site is located up in the mountains so you will have a nice view of Kailua-kona from their visitor center lobby terrace.

What a wonder tour! We liked the presentation and sampling of the different coffees. I especially enjoyed the teas. Don't forget to check out the history of the clock.

Hula Daddy was one of my favorite stops on our vacation. We were headed to the Volcanoes National Park and we decided to stop by based on a pamphlet and a local recommendation. That was the best decision of the day. Since not all of their acreage is located near the visitor center it is somewhat easy to drive past.... More
