Seeing firsthand and up close this inordinately famous and spectacular 8,981-ft (2,737.4 m) long and six lanes wide bridge became a daily quest during a fog-shrouded autumn week. Its appeal was magnetic, irresistible, and inexplicable. The best vantage point I found was at Fort Point, where the bridge was close enough to touch it. Even then, for much of the... More

Traveled to San Francisco from Canada and made a 12 walk from the hotel to the bridge. I'm glad we made the hike and it is amazing the actual size of this bridge.

I rented a bike and ride across the bridge. That was a really fun way to experience the bridge. There is a beautiful park at the base of the bridge and lots of areas for photo opportunities!

Wow, what else can you say about this beautifu place. Saw it for the first time 34 years ago and it still took my breath away after all this time. We had to go 3 times before we had a beautiful day and no fog but thats kind of the allure of it too. So dramatic in the fog and... More

Why would anyone come to San Francisco and take a least one trip across the Bridge and view the city from the Vista Point? What a view? And watching the fog roll over the Marin Headlands from that vantage point is so, so romantic. But beware of wind gusts and always bring a jacket , especially in the summer months.

Great way to get exercise while visiting San Fran. You can walk across the bridge into Marin. Views are breath taking.
