Beautiful scenery - cold windy weather was not what we were expecting from California. We still really enjoyed ourselves.

We were out driving through the Presidio, geocaching and getting national park cancellation stamps (both are hobbies in our group). We ended up here. Nice views and several things to see - but it was really a stop off for us, we didnt spend more than an hour looking around. THere is too much else to do in town.
An interesting visitor center with a nice view across the bay otherwise just another place to park and look out over some old ruined baths and the coastline. It can be a very cold place in the fog also.
Definitely worth a couple of hours while in SF to explore Lands End. The trails and walk ways are landscaped with amazing vegetation and wild flowers. the view of the coastline, both looking north and south, are simply STUNNING. You even get some impressive photo ops of the Golden Gate Bridge and Bay from Lands End. Be prepared with a...

I was traveling with a friend and her father while here and the stairs are very steep to get to this location. we really enjoyed the place, it was something that her father traveled on a regular basis and really did enjoy. I felt as though it was one of the few places where you could go and be so...

This was definitely worth the hike. It was gorgeous. Sat and watched the barges go by. The only problem was I wish I would have went earlier in the afternoon because the fog was coming in at the end. However that was pretty neat to see the fog roll in.
Lands End has been a favorite place for me for as long as I can remember. Recently over the past few years they have invested into this area upgrading trails and landscaping.
You can enjoy fantastic views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Pacific ocean while walking along the many paths. There are several places to stop and enjoy...

Easy walk from the parking lot. Fantastic views of SF Bay. The spring wildflowers were gorgeous. Be sure to go to the visitor center to see the historical photos of the area. The cafe was a pleasant surprise. Nice to be able get a sandwich and enjoy it on the benches outside the center great views.
You can rent a bike and cover this walk faster, I choose to walk from the Fisherman wharf past the Fort Mason, Marina Green, Golden Gate bridge, through Presidio along the coast and the beach of Golden Gate national recreation area, Lands end, Cliff House to Sutro bath.
The walk took me through such variety of landscapes, sights, away from...

Views of the Pacific Ocean are stunning, as is the Golden Gate Bridge from the "other side" from that which is usually seen by visitors to San Francisco. The hike from Land's End to China Beach offers outstanding views, but beware: the trail is rocky at points, has substantial climbing in certain sections (including steps), there are NO restrooms or...
