We wanted to find the famous 'Hole in the Rock'.. the GPS system was telling us we were close but we just couldn't see it. Then we took the next bend and hey presto... some idiot had decided to mark the spot in 15 ft tall letters across the rock. Read my review of Arches National Park - the untouched... More

I am sorry that you feel that way. If you would have inquired within, you would have learned that those letters have been painted on the Rock since the 50's by the original owners. They have since been grandfathered in. There are old pictures in the museum of the painter Del Koops hanging from a rope painting them. I do... More

The massive whitewashed lettering "Hole in the Rock" is a blight enough on the landscape, but almost the least offensive thing I found about this nasty little money grabbing road stop. It is user and pet unfriendly in numerous ways. If a place (not just a person) can be obnoxious, this is the place. The source of my frustration is... More

we saw the sign on the way to needles and asked a local about it, it sounded good so we stopped. A man and his wife carved a diner and later a home out of a huge rock, then he started collecting outdoor sculptures and signs, has to bee seen to understand Also has a zoo, didn't go in though

Very interesting. Worth the visit. Amazing and talented owners that made this. I enjoyed all the facts and work that had went into this. The worst part of the tour was that the person that took us through had just came in from smoking and smelled so bad that I had a headache by the time we left.

This place is very interesting and a must see if you are travelling through the area. It has gift shops and a general store. We took the tour of the private residence chipped out of the rock. It is amazing someone could accomplish this feat. It is like you are back in the 1950's. The grounds outside are just as... More

Fun quirky attraction south of Moab, worth the drive later in the day as it not far and quick drive. The house and old 60s decor is fun, clean and movie like. But your not allowed to take pics, its not like people will sell them, people would still go if they were there, not sure what the big deal... More

Loved the actual house, but the guide had no personality and it was way too short to be able to take the time and actually see much of the inside. I don't understand the "no pictures" signs on everything...why?

Maybe it's just our family but the stuffed donkey in the cave living room was the clincher. Gave it 2 stars cause the kids liked the store at the front...

You have to take the tour of the home! They have all the original furniture and tools used to make the home. Whenever the couple wanted another room they would start chiseling at the rock. They also have a small petting zoo...if you love animals you should pay the $3 to go thru it.

If you've gotta see it, like my husband, then go, but don't expect anything fancy. It was like stepping back in time, and you honestly can't believe how hard this guy worked to get it all done. We skipped their other offerings, just opting for the brief, quirkily interesting tour. It's close to town, and if you have some free... More
