We went and enjoyed all the Christmas decorations. We loved the pool area and library the most. The winery is a must stop when you are done with your tour.
We had a very impressive visit on December 5th 2013. Who would believe 72 Christmas trees in one building. Personnel very knowledgeable and helpful. Only problem was so many people on tour. Even though our scheduled time with 6 p.m. The lines were excessively long. Tour was enjoyable but not sure if I would do it again
The Biltmore Estate is a great place to visit if you want a different take on American history. Well maintained, it allows you a peak at things that you wouldn't believe even existed a 100 years ago. Beautiful beyond believe, it's worth a visit even if just to feast your eyes on the exquisitely designed and built house, the beautiful... More
What a beautiful experience to see the Biltmore House decorated for the Christmas Season. Most all the plants inside are live, including the large trees, and thousands (literally) of pointsettias. The granduer of this house could never be duplicated and am glad to know it has remained in the family. Wear comfortable walking/hiking shoes as you will be on hard... More
Really enjoyed going through the house in the evening (Christmas season) and then again the next morning with the audio. What a huge difference and the things we saw during the morning that we did not catch the night before. It was more relaxing during the morning tour. Almost felt as if we were cattle being pushed through the maze... More
I had been advised that Christmas is the best time to tour the Biltmore House and spend time on the estate, and that was definitely true! We went during the day (about $20 cheaper each than the Candlelight evening tours), and originally I'd scoffed at the price of admission but honestly it was worth every penny. We spent hours wandering... More
The Biltmore is an amazing place we went in Dec. and it was decorated for Christmas. If u do the tour you HAVE to get the $ 10 audio tour headsets '.It enhances the tour with personal info about property and history house and Vanderbilt's. The people who work there are fantastic. Enjoy
Felt like I was in Disneyworld. And I don't like Disneyworld. Felt like a hand was out even though we spent over $1000 for two night package. Felt totally ripped off. Guess the Vanderbilts are still ripping off the suckers. Struck mostly by drivers of shuttles on automatic pilot. Same scripted drivel each trip except the late night trip back... More
This a neat piece of history. We did the night time tour to see all of the lights. We then took the tour again in the daytime. It is a neat place. You get to learn a little of our history. I recommend paying the extra for the audio tour. It is very informative. The grounds are expansive and beautiful.
This Estate and grounds are enthralling...huge and beautiful. I went at Christmas season so was decorated for the holidays. The rooms and furnishings and decorations are immense and showy...The Vanderbilts were certainly very wealthy and they liked to show it off...the architecture is a misture of so many different styles you get lost in it but thats how it was...
