This was not my first time rafting, but it was my best experience rafting! The Upper Gauley has some amazing rapids--some that are straight-up terrifying. The owner and his guides made us all feel very safe; it's clear these folks know what they're doing! We even had to rescue another group of rafters from a different company who got stranded...

A group of us selected WVA Adventures for a bachelor party weekend. We rafted the New River and our guide was fantastic. In addition, the campsite was very accomodating as they have tents available for rent and a nice area with fire pit, bathrooms, etc. This company is much better than the larger outfits because of the service you receive....

Went rafting with New River Scenic Whitewater Tours near Beckley, on Saturday, August 2nd. They are a small river company that have that mom and pop feel, with an excellent cadre of guides who are as fun to watch interacting with each other, as it is to run the rapids.
