Rain or shine, I love the Audubon Sanctuary. Especially when it's overcast, windy, chance of rain, and you don't want to be chilly on the beach, this is a great alternative. Actually, wherever I go, from the Outer Banks to Portland, OR, I know that any Audubon sanctuary trip will provide variety, unexpected glimpses of something wild, and give you... More

This is a wonderful gem. Its family friendly and well worth exploring. Wear comfortable foot wear, bring bug spray, hats and sunscreen. The trails were pretty easy walking and interesting. Bring a camera for lots of bird activity, fiddler crabs and osprey. Don't attempt the boardwalk to the beach when the tide is coming in, you will be in waist... More

The naturalists are always friendly and knowledgable. Would recommend the walks to the tidal flats for families and the boat trips from Orleans, too! A must do when you visit.

There are benches at all the scenic points.... More

Walking at the sanctuary and enjoying the scenery and birds is such a treat. The trails are fun and there are spots to sit and enjoy which can't be beat. I actually hope that not too many people discover the Sanctuary because I want to enjoy it all for myself!

This is one of those places where one could walk every day, and never get tired of it. I have an autumn view over the marsh as the screensaver on my computer. Their many trips and excursions are also well worth trying out.
