Very enjoyable market in the square with unique stalls selling something for everyone. Good subway links from here and nice to walk through if you are visiting the big stores in the area, Macy's, JC Penny etc.

The farmers market is absolutely wonderful. The surrounding streets are filled with great restaurants . Visit the ABC store on Broadway - its totally amazing.

This is a cool place to stop by. A lot of people just hanging out, stores all around, fun street acts showing off their stuff and some folks that are just down right interesting.

There was a local market on here the day we visited. Was a very interesting place to visit. The park is very peaceful and there was a lot of wildlife in there. Would recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Union Square is a great spot to meetup with friends, people watch or lounge for lunch. There are always lots of fun people, protests, art dealers, green markets and during the holidays a great Holiday Market. With so many trains coming through its the perfect spot to meet up!

Located in the heart of manhattan this place will be crowded so get here early to have a slow walk and enjoy

Union Square has a vibrant, exciting atmosphere. It's a crossroads (bunch of different subway lines stop here) and at the crossroads of different NY neighborhoods. There are nicer parks in New York than this one. Also the neighbourhood is not interesting. I suggest you go to Washington Square park or Tompkins Square park if you want to see another park than Central park.
