Found this on our last night and it was beautiful. Couple of glasses of champers in a romantic environment. Need to go to NYC again so I can go to this place
We've had a couple of cocktails at the Campbell Apartment on our recent honeymoon to New York. It was late on a Sunday night and we found the place quiet and intimate with great comfy sofas and a huge fireplace! The cocktails were excellent, the staff very friendly and the exterior very stylish. I would definitely recommend it for a... More
I found the Campbell Apartment an excellent venue for an after work or late-after work high ball. The vodka tonics are properly chilled and strong. The room has a great mix of professionals and folks just checking out the lore of the room. Besides the historic elements, the Campbell Apartment offers New Yorkers and tourists alike an opportunity to take... More
Do you ever feel like you're part of a secret? When you discover a place that takes a little research and persistence to find? We circled Grand Central twice in our search for Campbell Apartment. You must enter via Vanderbilt--though, from the west bank you could cut through the tables of a restaurant that shares parallel real estate on the... More
aspiring super-model waitresses in tight black cocktaill dresses and opera length pearls, Rat Pack music in the background, lighting such that anyone would look good (blanch du bois would love this place), handsome stoic bartenders, cushy chairs. cocktails are very expensive. absolutely nothing to eat. crowded with young tycoon wannabe types when I stopped in. loved it.
You're right in the middle of the hub-bub of Grand Central, yet you're also a million miles away. The Campbell Apartment feels like a secret, though of course it isn't. It's dark, gorgeous, and lush. I'm so glad that we whiled away an evening in the back of this place. It's not a cheap dive, of course, so bring that... More
We met a lady when we were in Grand Central Station (don't all great stories start like this??) and she suggested that if we wanted to go for a drink we should go to the Campbell Apartment. She warned the cocktails were expensive but it was worth it. And she was right. It's very dark in a London club sort... More
Relaxed atmosphere compared to "go to be seen locations". If from out of town, make sure to read about history of establishment. Great drinks, music, and crowd.
This little bar alongside the west side of Grand Central Station on promenade level a lush reminder of NYC luxury in robber baron days, terrific signature cocktails and great opportunity to feel pulse of gilded age NYC
