We visited as part of a road trip, once we had been to the visitor centre we walked over to get some photos. We are currently visiting from scotland and were quite fascinated by the story of the little Rock 9, this visit has been very enlightening for us and we are humbled to have visited the site where history... Considering the history that put this place front and center in the national news for days, this is a beautiful building.

The first thing that surprised us was the immense size of the school and the surrounding grounds. Everything quiet now but standing there one can imagine the many thousands of angry demonstrators.

The museum has several exhibits dedicated not only to what happened at Central High School, but also to the prevelance of racism throughout early American history. Very informative.

We visited on a Sunday afternoon, not really knowing what to expect, and leaving wholly touched by the experience. It's wonderful that the NPS has dedicated resources to highlighting such a pivotal moment in our history. The museum truly does it justice. This was set up with a teenager's attention span in mind, so a quick journey around the chronologically... More

I took a guided tour on a weekday. It began on the outside of the school, and the park ranger set the scene by describing the physical and social environs in 1957, when the nine courageous students integrated the high school. He then took us inside to the auditorium, where he concluded his spellbinding talk. Afterward I went to the... More

We visited on a Sunday afternoon and therefore didn't get to take the tour. We were able to walk around the outside of the building. The Visitor Center across the street has interactive displays. It was a great history lesson for several generations of our family visiting that day. It was eye opening for our teenagers and elicitted great conversations... More

Little Rock Central High School is still in use, so it is not available to tour. The National Park Museum built a new museum across the street intersection from the large high school. The exhibits in the museum are well done, they do a good job of explaining the history leading up to the desegregation crisis in 1957, and then... More

When we arrived there weren't guided tours however Marquis a park employ walked us to the front of the school and provided us with a wonderful history lesson. It was well worth it, we even went back for a second time

If you are a history buff this is definitely one of Little Rock's must visit places. The school looks beautiful from the outside and is still in user today. The museum and old gas station are fun to check out. Doesn't take very long to see the while site.
