Beautiful rock formations, no seriously! Bleakness with attitude. Saw a Road Runner (beep, beep) and don't foret water.

Very hot, be prepared with lots of water and it is a little pricey. It is the hottest place on earth so do not take chances without water.

We picked up a rental car from Alamo at McCarran Airport at 11am on Saturday morning for a 2 day rental $59 and we drove to Death Valley Junction, visited the Amargosa Opera House and called into their cafe where the Harley Davidson bikers hang out. There is a quaint little hotel there (We had originally booked it but cancelled... More

While driving into this vast "wasteland", it is a wonder anything actually lives there and thrives there. But despite the heat and the sand, this is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Driving along the winding roads, sometimes it looks like you are going to drive right into a huge boulder, but then the road gently... More

Death Valley is a huge national park at 3.4 million acres and is the lowest and driest area in the America. There is a lot to do and it makes a super day trip from Vegas or on route over to Yosemite. Visit Furnace Creek for a scenic drive and visitor centre, open 8-5pm. Go to Stovepipe Wells for the... More

We drove here from Las Vegas (about a 2 hour drive) & spent all day here. I wish I had more time here, but if you only have 1 day like we did you can still have a great day & get a good feel for the place. It was 107° at Furnace Creek Visitor's Center. We were able to... More

We did an overnight camping trip as we were motorcycling through. I never knew there was so much to see. Still haven't seen it all and have to go back. Scotty's Castle is a must and the tour is also. We were there in April and it was 90 degrees, unusually warm for that time of year. From the Badwater... More

It was hot 113º but we drove out to the cinder cones and it was a lot cooler about 85º. The road between panamint and stovepipe it steep and winding.

There are many areas of death valley. Craters, hidden rivers, and more. Make sure you budget your time. We had only planned a half day and really missed out on seeing so much. I would get there early in the morning, packe lots of snacks and tons of water, plan to stay the whole day so that you dont miss... More
