Very hot, be prepared with lots of water and it is a little pricey. It is the hottest place on earth so do not take chances without water.
We picked up a rental car from Alamo at McCarran Airport at 11am on Saturday morning for a 2 day rental $59 and we drove to Death Valley Junction, visited the Amargosa Opera House and called into their cafe where the Harley Davidson bikers hang out. There is a quaint little hotel there (We had originally booked it but cancelled...

We were there in April and it was 90 degrees, unusually warm for that time of year. From the Badwater...

It was hot 113º but we drove out to the cinder cones and it was a lot cooler about 85º. The road between panamint and stovepipe it steep and winding.

I would get there early in the morning, packe lots of snacks and tons of water, plan to stay the whole day so that you dont miss...
