This spot is just beautiful. There is a nice trail that goes down beside the fault. Such a unique landscape that it makes it completely worth while to go there. It is a gravel road (part) to get here which seems to be a staple for all the good spots to go to.

Loved to see the hot springs......a short hike down to the bottom of the hill, we took some very cool pictures.....a little sulphur smelling but soon went away.......as we we driving back to the main road, we saw a HUGE herd of mule deer, they were all camouflaged with all the brush..drive slow and you may be able to see... The water is scalding hot in some places and you are not allowed to swim. There are part that you can see steam coming out of the earth.

I love seeing active geological features. The Mammoth area is a geologically active area! The creek used to be a popular swim spot, but it has been closed for several years. You can still drive there and walk around.

Very interesting, but for safety, area around pools and stream are fenced off. Looks like a bridge washed away and you cannot get close to the area, but we saw some fly-fisherman on the stream nearby.

This was really a fun place to experience a true geothermal hot spring. Apparently some folks couldn't keep it together and the forest service didn't want any more people doing dumb stuff and dying on their watch. If you haven't seen hot springs before this is well worth a visit. No fees to pay as it is only small but still a great sight to witness if you can bear the smell!!
